Accès Micro-Crédit Gaspésie

Our investors

Our investors play an important role in the entrepreneurial success of the region.

“The community lending to the community” is one of the fundamental principles of Accès Micro-crédit Gaspésie. Our organization offers you a way to invest that enables you to get involved in your region. By investing, you promote local and regional economic development and are empowering people who do not have access to conventional financing but may have a business plan to gain access to capital. In order for projects to be accepted, they must be viable, sustainable, job-creating and generate economic activity.

How to invest

You can make a loan to our investment fund, with or without interest. You can also make a donation. The investment fund exists exclusively to offer microloans.

  • Caisses Desjardins de la Gaspésie

Desjardins is a cooperative financial group whose mission is to contribute to improving the economic and social well-being of people and communities by developing an integrated cooperative network of secure and profitable financial services.

The Caisses Desjardins de la Gaspésie’s contribution to Gaspésian microcredit goes well beyond financing, as they are directly involved in the development of entrepreneurship in the region by financially and technically supporting AMCG’s operations.

  • Canadian Alternative Investment Cooperative

The CAIC was founded in the early 1980s by several religious communities who wanted to pool their resources to invest in projects that promote social change and alternative economic structures.

  • Fondation Héritage 2000

This foundation was created by the Carrefour 50+ du Québec, expressing the desire of seniors to leave a legacy in our region for future generations. Since 2003, more than $100,000 has been paid out to,or reserved for, young entrepreneurs in Bas-St-Laurent, Gaspésie and the Îles-de-la-Madeleine who had little or no access to conventional sources of financing to start their business. The Fondation Héritage 2000participated in the creation of Accès Micro-crédit Gaspésie by providing capital which could then in turn be loaned to promoters.

  • Fonds Marie-François

Through a generous donation, the Fonds Marie-François actively contributes to our mission of fighting poverty and promoting the socio-economic inclusion of people who do not have access to conventional sources of credit.

Like AMCG, the Fonds Marie-François believes in the potential of entrepreneurship to help families in the region develop and to overcome difficult economic conditions.

  • Investissement Québec

Investissement Québec is a Crown corporation whose mission is to contribute to Quebec’s economic development. Its objective is to stimulate investment growth and support employment.

  • Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Exports (MEIE)

The Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Exports (MEIE) confers on the minister responsible the mission to promote economic development and advise the government on budgetary, fiscal, economic and accounting matters.

  • Private sector

Foundations, companies or individuals are also a part of these mobilization efforts, and participate in the economic development of Gaspésie.

  • Sylvain Roy, Member for Bonaventure

Sylvain Roy, Member of the National Assembly for Bonaventure, is one of the donors who has contributed to our investment fund in order to improve AMCG’s capacity to financially support more promoters in the development of their business projects.
